A solar powered guardhouse was constructed in Agsalin, Gloria by the collective effort of a fisherfolk association in the said coastal community in central eastern Mindoro thru the assistance of  Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI).
The guardhouse was turned over last January  to Samahan ng Mangingisda ng Agsalin (SaMA), a local non-governmental partner of MFI in Gloria.
MFI spearheaded a ten-day training on carpentry last Sept.7, 2015 with 30 participants who after the seminar, learned about different safety standards as well as basic knowledge and skills in measurement and planning.
During the training, the participants were provided with corresponding daily wages and received carpentry tools such as hard hat, gloves, goggles, dust mask, hammer saw chisel, shovel, plumb bomb, pliers and steel float.
Last January 13, the guardhouse was turned over to the said fishermen’s group which was witnessed by MFI Executive Director Karen H. Agabin, Pacifico Beldia II, Elven F. Raymundo, Jimmyrey Remotin, Evaresto Ereve and Leoncio Banaag, all from MFI.

Perez, Sangguniang Bayan Member  Nick Orlan Jamilla and Municipal Agriculturist Lydia Cantos.
